About CAACI

Objectives

  • Enhancing the Quality of Arbitration Law Education Within Tunisian Univertisies : ACICA aims to promote the dual dimension and pratical aspects of arbitration law education. Firstly, by organizing an annual competition titled « ALECSO Chair Prize for Internztionzl Commercial Arbitration ».

The comprehensive structure for conducting this competion is delineated by collaborative agreement inked on April 26,2023. This agreement was signed by ALECSO, University of Tunis El Manar and the Faculty of Law and political science of Tunis. Representatives from these three institutions officially formalized the agreement on the first anniversary of the Chair. This agreement establishes the regulatory framework and outlines the terms governing the execution of the annual competition.

Moreover, ACICA is committed to enhancing its involvement in international Arbitration competitions. The Chair’s already engaged in the 2024 edition of the Sport Arbitration MOOT. Therefore, a Student team from University of Tunis El Manar has been succesfully accepted to participate in SAM’s third edition.

  • Strengthening Scientific Exchanges between ACICA and Arab/ Foreign Universities : In pursuit of this objective, Two prominent international colloquiums have already been succesfully hosted in Tunis. The first themed « Arbitration Today : Transformations, mutations and News », unfolded at the ALECSO headquarters from November 8 to 10,2022, featuring the active participation of distinguished experts in arbitration law. The proceedings of the colloquium have been published in a dedicated edition of The Arab Review of ALECSO Chairs, celebrated during a special ceremony in Tunis.

The second colloquium, focusing on the thiertieth anniversary of the arbitration code », was held in Tunis on April 26 and 27, 2023. It witnessed the participation of professors and expert of significant internation renown. Its proceedings are currently undergoing publication and will be featured in the second edition of the second issue of the Arab Review of ALECSO Chairs.

  • Intensifying Collaboration with Arbitration institutions : A memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the libyan center for commercial arbitration is currentlyj in the process of being developed.
